Lynne mitchell
Lynne Mitchell is an artist originally from Miami Florida. While she has held an array of creative jobs she has always found time to paint and draw. Lynne attended Ringling School of Art and Design and later Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and sculpture.
Her final semester of college was spent in Florence Italy studying art. A year later, she returned to the states and moved to New York City. Lynne married, and after the birth of her daughter began writing and illustrating children’s books eventually publishing “Count And Color With The Little Monsters” through Scholastic.
After 9 years in Manhattan, Lynne moved her family to Atlanta. It was this reunion with nature that led her back to her love of plein-air and landscape painting. Once her daughter left for college, Lynne followed her fascination with the west, and moved to Denver Colorado. There, she focused primarily on western landscapes and a collection of lodge inspired images for licensing.
Now back in Atlanta once again, Lynne continues to explore the endless variety that nature offers as a central theme for her art.
